Natures Edge Furniture is a manufacturer of macrocarpa outdoor and indoor furniture. The business was bought by its present owners, Wesley and Astrid Liddle, because of its market potential and as an adjunct to their picture-frame business which had outgrown its existing premises.
Both businesses were
moved to the present factory in the Bruce McLaren Industrial Park, West Auckland, in 2006. A good reputation and image for the company has been established along with a high level of growth. In October 2007 the company received a "High Growth Award" after entering the Waitakere City Council's Business Awards programme for its first time.
With the movement away from imported tropical timber we aim to capture a greater share of the national furniture market with our macrocarpa products. We believe that macrocarpa, being a locally-grown renewable resource of recognisably New Zealand origin, has features which assure it of a strong future in both the indoor and outdoor furniture market.
Natures Edge Furniture supplies both wholesale buyers and private customers. Over the next year the company plans to expand its production capacity by 3-4 times to meet the expected rising demand.
